Une voix pour toutes les femmes francophones de Colombie-Britannique!

Réseau-Femmes

Improving the quality of life for all French-speaking women and francophone population in our community

Réseau-Femmes Colombie-Britannique is a province-wide network that is open to all French-speaking women, regardless of age, ability, ethnicity, gender, religion, income or sexual orientation.

Its mission is to bring together French-speaking women and to represent, promote and defend their rights and interests in order to contribute to their social, economic, and political empowerment, and to generate a sense of leadership amongst women.

Help with the development and growth of active French-speaking women groups in their community

Currently, RFCB has 7 active chapters throughout the province, and is also supporting the creation of a Young Women’s group through SFU. Each chapter develops an annual action plan, based on their local community priorities: activities, awareness campaigns, educational workshops, special events organised in conjunction with local organisations.

Women can participate on a voluntary basis as Chapter Coordinators or Board members; Réseau-Femmes also encourages those who are self-employed to develop and facilitate workshops throughout the province, which contributes to their economic self-sufficiency.

Services being provided:

  • Educational/personal development workshops: Bringing educational tools and expertise in French to members who wouldn’t have access to it locally.

  • Province-wide forums: Increasing knowledge and awareness of specific topics: financial fitness, leadership, women in arts, etc…

  • Annual conference: Exchanging success stories, sharing experiences and planning the year ahead.

  • Quarterly newsletter: Putting the emphasis on chapters: portraits, success stories, events, etc.

  • Multimedia library: 500+ items in French, accessible through a free mail-in process.

  • Administrative and financial support for local activities (space rental, promotion, transportation)
